Lubrizol Advanced Materials India Pvt. Ltd. is an 8 Decade young company who has been continuously working with dedication towards the products that are and have been user easy and at the same time contribute to the improvement piping applications in chemical industry.

Steel Plants were using FRP pipes for acid lines in pickling line and tandem cold mill and Mild steel rubber pipe line for alkali lines in utility. Both of these pipes were prone to failure and needed lot of maintenance. CPVC pipes were used for both applications and results were encouraging as CPVC has following advantages.

1) Less maintenance required
2) Easy Installation and Leak Proof Joints
3) High Impact Strength
4) Corrosion Resistance & Lowest Bacterial Growth
5) Lowest Thermal Expansion and Low Thermal Conductivity

While selecting Thermoplastic piping material consideration was given to the Fire performance Characteristics of the material such as Ignition, Heat of Combustion, Limiting Oxygen Index, Flame spread and Smoke Generation Properties.

CPVC provides excellent value in Terms of Safety and Performance in a wide range of Industrial process piping and ducting applications

PP is joined by Hot fusion and FRP is joined using glass mat and catalyses resin, needing high level of skill. CPVC is joined using solvent cement which does not require high skill level. In MSRL pipes, rubber lining is inconsistent both in terms of rubber quality and workmanship resulting in Localized corrosion leading to leakages. CPVC has excellent chemical resistance to most of minerals, acids & bases (Varying from Case to Case). CPVC has been able to withstand long term exposure to the environment without significant adverse effects.

Rubber lined surface is very rough, hence friction losses, CPVC has smooth internal surface which results in minimum friction losses.

With all the advantages, CPVC has emerged as the piping material for the future and is recommended for use up to 93ÂșC or 200 F Temperatures.
